I read Chapter Eight in They Say I Say, titled “‘As A Result’ Connecting the Parts.” I decided to read this chapter due to the fact that it provides the know-how as to how best to write transitional and connecting phrases. This concept has somewhat given me trouble at times as my paragraphs have a slight tendency to flow awkwardly. I try to connect topics, ideas and phrases and needed examples of how to best connect them. The Chapter provided examples of connection phrases of addition, elaboration, example, cause and effect, comparison, contrast, concession, and conclusion; all of which were useful in the development in my paper.
